Tsukunda Wulfu Yakubu is an accomplished professional with more than 30 years of experience in the Banking and Corporate Services. She started her work as a Treasury Officer at Rims Merchant Bank Limited during her National Youth Service (NYSC) in 1992 where she was retained at completion of the Service. She joined the current Bank of Agriculture as Assistant Manager in 1995 where she demonstrated her adaptability and knowledge by holding different positions across several divisions in pursuit of her career.
She demonstrated excellence in discharge of her responsibilities at the Bank of Agriculture (BOA) while as Branch Head at different locations, Head of Analysis and Control at the Zonal Office and Internal Auditor at the Head Office.
Motivated by her love of developing Human Capital, Tsukunda went through the Certification procedure and became an Associate of the Human Resources Practitioners of Nigeria. Her commitment to professional growth resulted in her deployment to Head of the Bank’s Learning and Development Center in 2017, where she brought the Center into an activity based Centre and made it an essential arm of the Bank. In 2018, she as part of the Banks delegation to Agricultural Bank of Morocco (Credit Agricole du Maroc) (CAM) on a study tour where she returned with some skills for the BOAs transformation agenda. Tsukunda was later elevated to Head the Human Resources Development Department in 2018 due to her leadership abilities and dedication to the field of Human Resources Development.
In January 2024, she was appointed as the Divisional Head of Corporate Services demonstrating her outstanding leadership talents and track record. Her skill set is broad and includes Project Management, Financial Management, Facilities Management, Procurement and Vendor Management, Information Management, Media Relations, Stakeholder Engagement, Change Management, Compliance and Regulatory Knowledge, Procurement of Trainers, Policy and Process Design, HR Policy, Employee Performance Review and Improvement, Negotiation of Terms, and Cage-To-Grave Supply Chain Management.
In addition to being a licensed Human Resource Practitioner, Tsukunda is a distinguished member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (CIBN), an Associate of the Human Resources Practitioners of Nigeria (AHRPN), and Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Managers (CIPM). Her active participation in professional organizations activities received recognition, which led to her being elected to the position of Chairperson of the CIPM Kaduna Branch twice. She serves on several committees, including the CIPM Cooperative’s Board of Trustees (BoT), the CIPM, Conflict Resolution and Mediation Committee, Membership Committee and others. She is a member of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), 2024 SLEAPM COURSE 8 and has recently bagged the Fellowship Membership of the Chartered Institute of Administration.
Tsukunda holds a Diploma in Accountancy and a BSc. in Business Administration from the University of Maiduguri, alongside a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Bayero University, Kano. She has participated in numerous local and international workshops, seminars, summits, and trainings, honing her expertise in Auditing, Talent Management, Performance Management, Comprehensive Human Management, Corporate Governance and Leadership Skills.
Outside of her professional endeavors, she enjoys Mentoring, Counseling, Event Planning and Management, Reading, Traveling, listening to Good Music and Building Connections.
She is married and blessed with three children.
